Raised in Lake Charles, LA, Alex Ardabili began studying the piano with Mrs. Dorothy Sahlmann. Accomplishments from her studio includes winning 1st prize in the Lake Charles Symphony Piano Concerto competition, 1st prize District Piano, a passion for learning, and a passion for teaching others in any format, especially through music.
Upon completing high school, Alex was recruited into McNeese State University (MSU) to pursue his Bachelors in Music under the direction of Dr. Lina Morita. Further piano study helped Alex craft his technique and gave him the opportunity to teach private lessons with the help of Dr. Christy Vogt, piano pedagogy instructor at McNeese State University.
In 2017, Alex was able to complete his Master’s of Music in piano performance at Louisiana State University under Mr. Gregory Sioles. During this time Alex was able to teach class piano at East Baton Rouge Magnet High School, a position he currently maintains.
Aside from his solo piano studies, Alex has spent an equal amount of time collaborating in various ensembles and mediums. His collaborations include performances with symphonic bands, jazz bands, show choirs (pop music) and numerous instrumental/vocal groups. His interests also lean towards musicals, where he’s played in shows such as Jesus Christ Superstar, Grease, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and Hair.
Alexander Ardabili joined the Grace Notes staff in 2017.
